Album Info:December 8, I went to the train station around midnight to see the Southwest Chief show up. Found the Holiday E|press in the yard and made sure to come back the next morning, to get some daytime photos! Didn't get around to posting until the day after Christmas, but I hope you enjoy anyway!

Description:  #10. This dining car was built in 1957-58 for the Northcoast Limited, as Northern Pacific 49.Sat 48 originally, later reduced to 40. Damaged in a wreck, the car was not sold to Amtrak. Burlington Northern repaired it and named it the Lake Superior. The car suffered a fire on May 26, 2015, and was temporarily removed from the roster, but it was repaired after a couple months.

Description:  The Santa Fe had 8 of these cars, and Amtrak never got them because they weren't willing to pay Santa Fe's price! Santa Fe did sell 7, but kept this one, still part of the BNSF fleet today. The coach was built in 1954 with 57 coach seats and 18 lounge seats on the upper level, and a 28 seat lounge on the lower level-along with a nurse's office! Right under the bridge, so I couldn't get a great shot of it-still a beautiful car.
